KW172151 F-105D Thunderchief 'Pussy Galore II' - Dynamic Duo'

REPUBLIC F-105D-RE-31 THUNDERCHIEF 62-4364 'PUSSY GALORE II' 354TH TFS, 355TH TFW

F-105D-RE-31 "PUSSY GALORE II" and served in Vietnam. The nose art is on the top side directly in front of the canopy.

Pussy Galore  is the executive jet pilot for the arch Villain in the late '60's James Bond movie "Goldfinger".

This nose art was apparently designed to amuse the otherwise bored boom operators in the in-flight tankers and I suspect no boom operator ever forgot refuelling this jet.

Sadly the Pussy Galore II F-105 was lost in a ground accident on 16/12/68 during overhaul depot in Tinian, Taiwan.

REPUBLIC F-105D-6-RE 59-1771 THUNDERCHIEF 59-1771 'DYNAMIC DUO II' VIRGINIA AIR NATIONAL GUARD

This 105 Thud last served with the 149th Tactical Fighter Squadron (Virginia ANG), where T/Sgt. Bernard 'Beetle' Bailey applied the artwork.

F-105D 59-1771 is now displayed at the AFA Museum at Elgin AFB, Florida.
